Customer Testimonials

Hi Sue, Yes! the patients and I love them.
Susan Casella, Breast Health Coordinator, Oncology Support Services / Northside Hospital

This patient is one of Dr XXXXX's. She is doing really well but unfortunately has had a few repeat surgeries and lots of experience with drains and drain management. She loves your belt. She came into the store to buy something else and we told her about your belt.

I wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for your recovery belt. I received one in the mail before my surgery and it was very helpful. I do not know what I would have done without it! Thank you so much.
Deborah

I got your recovery belt after a lat flap repair job in Northside Hospital. I have to tell you that little belt made such a big difference for me! I have had numerous surgeries during the reconstruction process and the freakin' drains were one of my biggest nemeses...until your belt. All the pain and pinching-poof-gone. Such a simple solution to a BIG problem. I can't thank you enough.
Nancy

I am very grateful for the Recovery Belt. This has made living with the post surgery drains much less eventful. Thank you for sharing your belt with other breast cancer patients.
Tina

I just want you to know how useful this belt has been! Thank you for your ingenuity and for sharing! I was recently at Northside for a single mastectomy and had 3 drains for over three weeks. One of the nice volunteer groups gave me this belt and other goodies. I actually passed the belt earlier this week to a "friend" that I have never met. She is scheduled for surgery next week and I know this will be useful for her.

An engineering friend once told me many years ago that an invention is nothing more that a solution to a problem. Well, you came up with a super solution to hold surgical drains with your Recovery Belt. I felt very fortunate to receive one in my Northside Hospital Auxillary Care Package after going through a mastectomy in May. What a lifesaver! Thank you for using your experience to do something positive and selfless for others. You're a courageous woman.
Sincerely, Natalie

This is a thank you to let you know how much I appreciate the belt you provided or made. I'm not sure which, but it sure is handy. I just had my 2nd surgery at The Breast Care Center, and had a drain both times. I wanted you to have the feedback and to know that you have helped me.
Thank you, Dana

I just got home from the hospital...dbl. mastectomy....and I appreciate the belt you designed. It will be especially good in the shower. Also, I have 6 drains so it helps there also.
Thanks so much. Elaine

I had a mastectomy and an excisional wire biopsy on Oct. 31 and still have my 2 drains. I am pretty sure they can come out this Friday. I want to thank you for the recovery belt you made that I received thru Northside Hospital. It is perfect; you were so smart to come up with the idea. I looked online before surgery and actually purchased a soft pouch to hold the drains but the recovery belt works best for me. Easy, simple, small, soft, washable etc. Thank you very much. You certainly helped make an awkward situation much more bearable.
Blessings to you, Susan

In the dawn of breast cancer awareness month I would like to be able to share my survivor story and appear as a guest on your program. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 48, 9 years ago. As a result, I had about a dozen surgeries, over a period of about 3 years. My actual battle was dealing with the many surgical drains after each one of these surgeries. I cleverly constructed a belt to holster the drains. My doctors and nurses at Northside hospital were so impressed with my invention they have adopted it as a standard item for all breast cancer surgeries that require such drains. My goal and passion is to help every single surgery patient with the annoyance of managing their drains. The head of the breast cancer program at Northside hospital, Susan Casella, is a great supporter of my belt. I'm sure she would be happy to accompany me as a guest to discuss all the many programs Northside hospital sponsers for breast cancer. The Recovery Belt is capable of supporting surgical drains from any surgery, not just breast cancer. My father wore one after his lung cancer surgery. Please visit my website for my complete story, and please consider me as a guest on your program....(which I watch everyday).
Thank you,
Susan Lippert

I just ordered a recovery belt for a friend of mine who will be having a bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery process starting this week. When the belt and card are delivered to her, will there be instructions attached? Will she be able to use this belt over the entire process, or is it only needed for the initial mastectomies?
I'm also awaiting the results of my fourth breast biopsy, done 6/3. So far, all have been benign. I hate the waiting. My friend Jennifer, who is having breast cancer surgery, and your site, helped spur me on to get my Mamogram. I hope you are doing well,
Kindra

My name is Jennifer. I am a recovering 39 yrs old breast cancer survivor. We were diagnosed in October 2012 & had a mastectomy in December 2012. Recovering from surgery around Christmas time was truly not any fun- but with God's grace we have survived! Thankfully, we are now breast cancer-free!!! And I recently had breast reconstruction. Again, by God's hand, not by mine...we give Him all the glory for the healing, doctors, friends, family, and dear volunteers such as yourself.
Waking up after my mastectomy, my body felt like I had been in a train wreck. Truly, the last thought on my mind was "drains." After the nurses prepared me to go home, I thought what in the world am I supposed to do with this thing- the drain. Then the nurse introduced me to the recovery belt and I vowed at the moment to never forget to thank you for the blessing of that belt- truly a God sent!!!
Thank you so much for your gift- I thank God for you!!! If you ever think your hard labor is in vain, PLEASE know it is not. You are a blessing!!!
Sincerely, Jennifer

Hi, just wondering if I could receive my order sooner than 7 days? I am having my 2nd reconstruction done on 3-14-13, this Thursday, this time it will be the DIEP flap. I had 4 drains last time, what a mess (pins, large shirts, hoodies). I know I will have 6 drains this time and I like the control and the look of the belt.
Thank you, Ariadne

My wife received one of your Recovery Belts through Northside Hospital when she was there at the end of January. As you well know, this process continues. Necessity is obviously the mother of invention, so kudos to you and others like you for what you’ve done for others. We will be paying this forward!
